Breeze Hill's testing window will be May 4–May 22. During this time, students in Grades 3–5 across our district will participate in the California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress (CAASPP), California’s annual state assessment. All students in grades 3–5 will take assessments in English Language Arts and Mathematics, and students in grade 5 will also take an assessment in Science.
These assessments provide students with an opportunity to show what they have learned and how much they have grown over the school year. The CAASPP reflects the important skills students build every day in their classrooms, including reading, writing, problem-solving, and critical thinking. Just as importantly, these test results help our school understand student progress so we can continue strengthening instruction and providing the right support for every learner.
How Families Can Help:
  • Encourage healthy habits: Please make sure students get plenty of rest, eat a healthy breakfast, and arrive on time.
  • Keep it positive: Encourage regular attendance and a positive outlook toward learning.
  • Enjoy a snack: The PTA will be providing daily snacks for our test takers to help create an enjoyable and positive testing environment!
We greatly appreciate your partnership in supporting our students as they continue to learn, grow, and reach their full potential.

Classroom News:

English Language Arts
All library books should be returned this week.   Reading logs will now be completed in class since the children will not be checking out any books from the library.  We are taking the district Amira and Star Reading assessments this week.

Math
We are taking the district iReady Assessment this week. 

Social Studies
We are learning the Western states and capitals beginning on Tuesday.
​The test will be on 5/28.
We will also be working on our state reports and posterboards this week.
